About
Herbie Hudson is a designer whose work explores the relationship between people, place, and material. Through drawing, making and direct engagement with site and those who inhabit it, he develops thoughtful responses that grow from a close reading of context.
Each project begins with a conversation, often with an idea, a need, or simply the beginnings of a dream. Through dialogue, sketching, and exploration, these early thoughts gradually evolve into developed proposals and, ultimately, realised projects. While every project is different, the approach remains consistent: rooted in narrative, careful attention to detail, and the people at the centre of each design.
When he is not designing, Herbie can often be found sailing along the South Coast or documenting everyday life through his grandfather’s 35mm film camera.
